I'm a Certified Home Inspector by the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors. NACHI the only organization that requires it's members to pass a certification exam prior to becoming a member. Other organizations allow membership as candidates by simply paying the fees-no exam required. With NACHI, one must pass the exam to become NACHI certified and be a member of the organization.
